At Acton Academy Kennebunkport, we believe learning happens best when it’s real — when students step into the world and experience the lessons that can’t be taught in a textbook. That belief came to life recently through a simple but powerful act: two of our learners, ages 11 and 12, went out and secured a sponsorship for the Acton Children’s Business Fair.
A Community Partner Who Said “Yes”
A huge thank you to Kennebunk House of Pizza!
Their generous sponsorship supports an event that celebrates creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among young people in our community. 🍕
But what makes this partnership even more meaningful is how it came about. Our learners practiced real-world skills — approaching a business, making their pitch, and asking with confidence. They learned firsthand that courage grows when you take action, and that a “yes” from a community partner like Kennebunk House of Pizza means more than funding — it’s a vote of confidence in their potential.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
We often say we’re not quite as strict as the Acton School of Business — where MBA students couldn’t return until every product was sold — but we do share the same belief: selling is a skill that grows through experience. These young entrepreneurs discovered what it feels like to advocate for their ideas, connect with others, and see their efforts make a real difference.
Gratitude in Action
A heartfelt thank you again to Kennebunk House of Pizza for supporting not only our Children’s Business Fair, but also the growth and courage of the next generation of entrepreneurs.
At Acton, we call that learning by doing — and moments like these remind us just how powerful that learning can be.
