We encourage the entire family to attend this tour.
Online Application & Read
Acton Academy is a learner-led environment with a very unique educational model that we believe allows our learners to thrive, but Acton is not for everyone.
If you believe that Acton Academy is the right fit for your individual child(ren), you will be emailed an application to complete.
We also recommend reading the book 'Courage To Grow' by Laura Sandefer. It offers great insight into the Acton model and is required reading prior to a trial day.
Trial Day(s)
& MSLP Video Submission*
Our Admissions Committee reviews all applications; those that we feel may be a good fit will be invited to do a trial day(s) in our studio.
The idea of a trial day(s) is to give your child(ren) an idea of what life at Acton is like. While this is not entirely the same as being in the studio full-time, it allows everyone to see if it is potentially a good fit.
Spark Studio Learners (aged 4.5-7): 1-Day Trial ($50 fee)
Adventure & MSLP Learners (ages 8+): 3-Day Trial ($150 fee)
*MSLP (Middle School & Launchpad) applicants will submit a short video answering 3 application questions
Admissions Decision Communicated via Email
We will convey our decision on admission via email shortly after the trial day(s).
If you also believe Acton Academy is a good fit for your child(ren) and family then enrollment begins!
Admission to the school will be confirmed upon completion of the enrollment documents and receipt of the deposit (a $500 non-refundable deposit per child).
Annual Tuition: $15,900
A limited number of scholarships are available ranging from 10%-50% of tuition and will be assessed on an individual basis.
Please inquire during your tour for additional information.
Application Deadline (for January 6th start): December 13, 2024

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
ACTON ACADEMY AND OTHER SCHOOLS?
A MEANINGFUL EDUCATION
The purpose of an Acton education is to help your child discover, grow, and utilize their natural gifts and abilities.
COMMUNITY
We foster fellowship among children, parents, and families to support one another on our individual hero's journeys.
PROJECT BASED LEARNING
We believe students learn by doing. Acton students are building real-life skills in the classroom every day through hands-on projects.
ONE DAY PER WEEK SPENT IN NATURE IMMERSION
Nature is an essential part of childhood. Not only is it good for their soul, but it's important for kids to take risks, build resilience, and gain confidence.
PHENOMENAL "GUIDES" (NOT TEACHERS)
We believe it is more important to ask challenging questions and allow learners to discover the answers for themselves. No boring sit-in-your-desk teacher-led lecture-style learning at Acton!
NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY
Acton Academy Kennebunkport values, respects, and benefits from the unique identity of each learner and community member, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. As an intentional learning community, we expect all faculty, staff, administrators, parents, caregivers, and learners to respect individual differences and choices regardless of your personal opinions and beliefs. Please also see our Non-Harassment Policy.
